A real-world use case at BITKUB Summit
Dr Dechowat Promda, CEO of HealthTAG, presented “Thailand Real-World Use Case Blockchain in Healthcare” at BITKUB Summit 2024 on 19 October. The session ran from 3:00 to 3:45 pm at the Bitkub Blockchain Technology booth in Plenary Hall at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
KUB Chain announced the session two days before the event and invited attendees to discuss how blockchain could be applied in medicine and healthcare. HealthTAG’s archived item recorded the occasion as HealthTAG x Bitkub and looked ahead to further work together.
The healthcare Layer 2 plan
After the summit, Bitkub Blockchain Technology published a summary of the Bitkub Chain roadmap. It described a Blockchain Layer 2 for Healthcare project with HealthTAG, focused on data privacy and still at an early stage of development.
Bitkub’s post-event plan named Siriraj Hospital, Thammasat University Hospital, and the Mor Prom application as initial use cases. The announcement does not confirm that all three are current HealthTAG deployments.
Blockchain’s role in the HealthTAG system
The HealthTAG use case places blockchain in the consent and access-audit layer. Hospitals continue to control clinical records and make clinical data available through FHIR infrastructure when access has been authorised. This separates custody of health information from the verifiable history of permissions and access events.
The session therefore gave blockchain a specific job in healthcare: managing permission state and supporting an auditable record of access, while hospital systems continue to hold and serve clinical records.
From the session to joint development
KUB Chain announced HealthTAG’s session before the event. On 25 October, Bitkub Blockchain Technology published a healthcare Layer 2 plan that identified work with HealthTAG.
