MU Health Wallet at Digital Health Forum 2026

Mahidol University and HealthTAG presented MU Health Wallet at the Ministry of Public Health Bureau of Digital Health booth during Digital Health Forum 2026 on 25 and 26 August 2026. The exhibition explained how people can use a health data wallet to access their information and grant healthcare providers permission to view the records needed for care.

Records remain with their source hospitals

MU Health Wallet follows a federated, data at source architecture. Hospitals continue to control clinical records in their own source systems. When information is exchanged, HL7 FHIR R4 gives participating systems a common format for interpreting the data.

The exhibition stated that blockchain does not store clinical records. It records consent and data-access events for later audit. It also presented Decentralized ID and Verifiable Credentials for identity verification alongside permissions managed by the data owner.

Part of the demonstration covered connections with MOPH Refer and Mor Prom. When a patient is referred to another hospital, the patient can use a phone to choose which information the receiving team may view and how long that permission lasts. The patient can also withdraw access. Each access event is recorded for later review, allowing the receiving clinician to request the history needed for continued care through a process the patient can see and control.

Developing AI without pooling patient records

The exhibition also introduced Federated Learning as a way for hospitals to help develop shared models. Computation is brought to data held inside participating organizations instead of moving all patient records into one central system. Hospitals can therefore contribute to model development while retaining governance over their own data.

HealthTAG thanks everyone who visited the booth and discussed MU Health Wallet during the two-day event.
