The assessment visit on 16 and 17 May
HealthTAG welcomed an official representative of Fondation Pierre Fabre who travelled from Paris to Bangkok on 16 and 17 May 2024. The visit formed part of the assessment of HealthTAG as a finalist in the 2024 ODESS Awards.
HealthTAG’s original post records that the team presented its implementation for inspection. ODESS later named HealthTAG among its 2024 digital health laureates.
The challenge presented to ODESS
HealthTAG described its goal to ODESS as using information and communication technology to improve access to care and quality medicines, with a particular focus on Asia and South Africa.
The ODESS project profile places HealthTAG in the context of fragmented health information held by healthcare institutions at different levels and limited interoperability between those systems. The initiative aims to connect hospital-controlled information, give patients access through a Personal Health Record, and support coordination across the health system.
The partners who welcomed the representative
HealthTAG states that Siriraj Hospital, Golden Jubilee Medical Center, and Standards and Interoperability Lab Thailand, or SIL-TH, joined the assessment visit. The presentation covered healthcare-provider operations and health-data standards, while hospitals remained responsible for their clinical records.
The system reviewed during the visit
HealthTAG connects clinical data through FHIR and manages identity, authorisation and access auditing. Hospitals control the clinical records, while blockchain records consent and access events for later review.
The approach presented during the visit does not consolidate every clinical record in one place. Patients access their health information through a system that exchanges data under authorisation. HealthTAG and its partners presented this approach to the ODESS representative during the two-day visit.
